چکیده

We report the higher order cumulants and their ratios for baryon, charge and strangeness multiplicity in canonical and grand-canonical ensembles in ideal thermal model including all the resonances. When the number of conserved quanta is small, an explicit treatment of these conserved charges is required, which leads to a canonical description of the system and the fluctuations are significantly different from the grand canonical ensemble. Cumulant ratios of total charge and net-charge multiplicity as a function of collision energies are also compared in grand canonical ensemble. PACS. 25.75.Gz, 12.38.Mh, 21.65.Qr, 25.75.-q, 25.75.Nq.

The Thermodynamic Model for Nuclear Multifragmentation

A great many observables seen in intermediate energy heavy ion collisions can be explained on the basis of statistical equilibrium. Calculations based on statistical equilibrium can be implemented in microcanonical ensemble (energy and number of particles in the system are kept fixed), canonical ensemble (temperature and number of particles are kept fixed) or grand canonical ensemble (fixed tem...

Kinetic equation with exact charge conservation.

A kinetic master equation for multiplicity distributions is formulated for charged particles which are created or destroyed only in pairs due to the conservation of their Abelian charge. It allows one to study time evolution of the multiplicity distributions in a relativistic many-body system with arbitrary average particle multiplicities. It is shown to reproduce the equilibrium results for bo...

Fluctuations in Statistical Models

The multiplicity fluctuations of hadrons are studied within the statistical hadron-resonance gas model in the large volume limit. The role of quantum statistics and resonance decay effects are discussed. The microscopic correlator method is used to enforce conservation of three charges – baryon number, electric charge, and strangeness – in the canonical ensemble. In addition, in the micro-canon...

Multiplicity fluctuations in relativistic nuclear collisions: statistical model versus experimental data

Multiplicity distributions of hadrons produced in central nucleus-nucleus collisions are studied within the hadron-resonance gas model in the large volume limit. In the canonical ensemble conservation of three charges (baryon number, electric charge, and strangeness) is enforced. In addition, in the micro-canonical ensemble energy conservation is included. An analytical method is used to accoun...

Strangeness Enhancement and System Size in the Hadronic Gas Model

Strange particle enhancement in relativistic ion collisions is discussed with particular attention to the dependence on the size of the volume and/or the baryon number of the system. The motivation for using a " fireball " description for hadronic interactions comes from the work of Hagedorn [1]. In such a model one assumes that a thermal system is produced. This thermal " fireball " then expan...
